97 Xantia aux belt routing

Post by Sturdybloke »

Its funny with all this talk of aux belts & idler wheels that after doing my cambelt I am having problems with the routing of the serpentine belt. In recent posts I was hoping someone would post a picture for Colin or Red Dwafers but no such luck!

Car is a 97 Xantia with standard aircon. It feels like ive tried every combination of routing teh belt but I have about 4" of slack. Something so simple and I muck it right up

Ta in advance - Craig.

Hi Craig,

If you have a Xantia BoL, it shows a perfect picture of the belt routing in the Diesel Routine maintenance section on page 1B.14.

As it's the BoL, ignore their diagram for the 1.9TD and use the diagram next door for the 2.1TD! The 1.9TD they show is the early one. later 1.9TDs used the 2.1 layout..

That's the one I was thinking of Andrew. Thanks!

Those pop-ups. If it continues, I'll give the webservers a reboot tomorrow morning, early.

Not trying to show you up Toby - I had the pdf open anyway so I just
did a screen grab of it; the rest was easy!!

Wish other things were as straightforward!
