Perfect for converting an Activa. Maybe.

For those who don't know, the 406 V6 was available as a manual.

If you want to stuff this into an Activa, you need a whole lot more gear! :?
Subframe, exhaust, engine mounts, driveshafts, brakes,..........

Why put it in the activa, merely converting your own Xantia V6 from Auto to Manual would give you a different beast! As well as having a spare engine (and a choice of boxes), ideal scenario. It would add value to the car for those who would actually want to buy one (or indeed know what a manual xantia v6 is, compared to the auto).

It seems a hell of a lot of work to shove it in to an Activa, although it would be very rare indeed, I do believe a company down south have managed one in the past.

Now I want a Xantia again, like jgra1. I should never have sold it. Grrrr.

I know... tbh, i may be in the market again for another xantia soon, obviusly going to be a 2.1td exclusive, or the V6, or if i can find a 2.1td XM with the bosch pump i'd go for that, or the 2.5 would be cool, although the mechanical complexity and rarity of it puts me off.

But a Xantia V6 with cream leather would be great!

Quite possible Ross..

Someone on the BX Club has put a 2.1TD in a BX :D Here's the detail.

So if a 2.1TD will go in, so will an XU10CTE from an Activa. They're very similar in mounts and etc. It would be as mad as a box of frogs in a BX though

Excellent news Dei :D And a good choice as well. A 2.1TD Exclusive is just about the best Xantia out there. I nearly have one. It just lacks Hydractive suspension

A V6 is tempting though. Have you heard one? Ummm.. an orchestra on wheels...

Now that would be good..
A 2.1td BX with Bosch pump and anti sink as well!!

Be like a rocket all the time with all those plastic panels but with 2 kids in tow i dont think i'd give up the releative safety for a backwards step to a BX :(

Oh c'mon, you know i've had both, had the 2.1 not have had a noisy aux belt tensioner (scary stuff) I would have kept it, but at nearly a few hundred a pop from a dealer I sold the 2.1 exclusive.

And I had the V6 too, bit over top in sports mode!! it's pointlessly fast and you will red line before it changes gear, insane. And do you remember mine had a hole just before the backbox, I swear to you, it was noisy, but THAT kind of noisy just turns heads and people think, a xantia, with a noise like that, and then ur gone!!

If only I had a few hundred to blow on a car I would today!
