Xantia 1.9 TD TEMPT 2 - JAN '98 WING

Post by Malcolm »

Hi,

still got old faithful, even after my lad took her through a hedgerow earlier in the year. Everything bar the wing repaired.

I’ve just come across across a silver Xantia in a local yard, they were just closing up so didn't get chance to see the wing but the chap said it was good.

The chap said that it was a '98 MkII and I believe mine to be a MkI as in title. I know the grills are different and headlight and indicator, but are the wings interchangeable, i.e. if mine is a MkI and that a Mk II would it fit?

TIA

Hi Malcolm,

MKII wings I believe are different in that they're wider and fatter.

All MKIs except the Activa, 2.1TD and V6 had "narrow" front wings whereas the Activa, 2.1TD and V6 had the "wide" wings and I believe all MKII Xantias had the "wide" wings irrespective of engine fitted.

Also, I believe MKII Xantias had different indicator lenses..

They might fit but may look a little odd when viewed head-on...

Hi,
picked up most of the parts I req'd from e-bay ads from somewhere near Oswestry - bit of a drive from Leeds area. I called back via Blackburn? to a French Car breakers to pick a wing up but when I got there - No sorry, the office shouldn't have said we'd got one.
I've been looking, and there was one - Somerset but he wanted collection. If anyone is aware of where there might be one, please let me know.

Death of an Activa (yet again...)

Same wing for your purposes - ask him for the paint code; easy enough
as the engine bay is now empty!

Hi Andrew, these wings on the Activa are fat wings, would not suit Malcolm's car, unless he was going for the qwerky look.

I think I have Malcolm sorted as he's having the parts off my old 2.0i estate.

Misread that and thought he must be converting the Xantia into a typwriter

And I thought the car needing the fatter wings was a s2 which shares
the same front wing design as an Activa? Obviously no good if it's needed
on a s1, I grant you...
