leaky radiator

Post by fangy »

Hi, I've got a Xantia 1.9 TD (vsx),I found a drip of water coming from the radiator, at least I think it's the radiator, It's dripping from under the front valance. Can I use Holts radweld to seal this up? It's says on the bottle to pour it straight into the radiator but theres no mention of putting it in the expansion tank.
Thanks,
Fangy.

i used K seal and disconect the top hose from the thermostat housing, hold the end of the hose up in the air and pour your sealant in that way, i feel this way it gets to the problem before going around the rest of the cooing system first

It says on the bottle, start the car and put it in once the coolant is warm, would it be ok to remove the top hose with the water warm? do you think putting it in the expansion tank would work?
Thanks,
Fangy.

as long as you release the presure via the filler cap first, not that there should be much more than a pissst, and the K seal i used youy can put it in a cold system
