laying up a XM

Post by mark bedford »

Sitting on my drive much to her indoors annoyance is my K reg Xm estate, too good to scrap but worth nowt. Its in quite good nick 135K rearranged rear quarter panel and tappy engine - will do it one day. Anyway want to keep it but what is the best way so that it doesn't go downhill? Havnt got any axle stands but have got plenty of tree stumps!!! Any ideas?
In the meantime
1995 XM 2.1TD (Hate it)
Bad points
Heavy clutch
Unlocks itself when it wants
Rear door sometimes wont open
Says to boot is open all the time and beeps to let me know every 10secs
Rear spheres and pump sphere needs doing
only one dash light works
Alarm led stays on
radio display dont work
overheats sometimes in traffic (AC controlled?)
Leather seats are cold
cant fit big stuff in boot
good points
fuel
come back to you on any others
Dream - keep old XM and fit a LPG kit - sell the red pig
Cheers
Mark
