just bought an AX on ebay!!?

Bit of a spur of the moment thing, 27.5k miles on a P plate for £820. Does that sound ok? Hope it's genuine. Got a years MOT, fingers crossed it's as good as it sounds.

I love the AX to bits Stempy, I had an early MK1 1.1 on a G plate for years. They're FUN!

I know of a very clean P plater around here. It's in beautiful condition overall but there is a touch of non-structural rust on the tops of the inner wings toward the front. Have a careful check of this area on yours. It's not a biggie to repair.

TU engines are brilliant, end of. Dead simple to work on and the only tricky job is the bottom hose.

The TUD engines are fine in 1.5 guise with the iron block but the TUD3 (1360cc) with an alloy block and wet liners can suffer HG problems. Most of the diesels have Lucas pumps so they're a veg. free zone.

It's a 1 litre petrol, lexi. Thanks for the heads up on the rust Jim. The description said it was rust free and spent most of its life in a garage so I'm hoping it will be in pretty good condition. It does live by the seaside though

Plan to pick it up Thursday, in a strange way I'm quite excited

Probably a better bet with that petrol engine now that unleaded is cheaper ............bet it will be good on fuel with the light body.

I had a 1 litre AX, and it was definitely fun to drive. I only had three complaints: being squished inside it as it's very small, my steel-toecap work boots being large enough to press two pedals at once at the worst of times, and the fact the small engine meant I lost speed massively on inclines and couldn't get upto speed.
