I live near Ely, work in Cambridge, but always religiously drive south of Cambridge to use:

Richard (front-of-house, parts, organisation) and Colin (owner, mechanic) there have looked after a variety of Citroens for me for years - Colin is a good CX spannerman, so very little scares him . He doesn't overcharge, he does work that's necessary and only that's necessary, and as far as I can tell has always been straight with me. When a part seems expensive (I needed a new Xantia driveshaft once) they'll even have a go at sourcing from the local breakers first in order to save you some money.
It's a small village garage, the labour rate is about half that of a main dealer, I think it's currently about £40/hour. Oh, and they have courtesy cars to get you back to Cambridge - a variety of entertainingly-shagged BXs and (currently) my old TD Xantia.
I have no connection with the garage other than as a very satisfied customer.
