Going to look at an Xsara Estate LX.. this afternoon.
Its a 2.0 HDi 2001 on Y Plate

Thanks

I guess you've aleady been to look at it now but......
A 2001 should be the mk2 facelift version. Apart from the change in appearance the only really significant difference was the change over to multiplex electrics, which I think the very last of the mk1s actually got also. Basically check that everything electrical works, particularly the indicator/light/wiper stalks which have a habit of playing up on multiplexed Citroens and have to be replaced together as a complete unit costing about £160.

Hi
Trying to find out if this Car has the 110 or 90 Bhp engine.
I typed the Reg in to one of the Sites that give you the engine Code
came back with this Reference.. RHY (DW10TD) still no wiser as to what the BHP is ?

DW10TD is the 90. DW10AETD is the 110.

The 90 isn't a bad engine, but the 110 is a flyer in Xsara.
Currently driving a 2004 C5 VTR (old shape) and an Electric Kia Soul. Sorry but the electric one is my favourite!
Formerly Hyundai Genesis 3.8 V6, 2 x Kia Optima, 2 x C5, Xsara and Saxo.

It should tell you somewhere in the driver's door shut what engine is fitted.

What sites give you the engine code from the registration number?

Hi
Will have a look in the Door tomorrow when I pick up the Car. Site I used was called (Nationwide Salvage)
Maybe they were wrong and it's the 110 which would be a Bonus, if not may have to try one of the Diesel Tuning Chips.. Can anyone recommend one that works ?
Thanks

The other way to tell is by looking for the intercooler pipe as seen on the second Xantia here.

If you go to the vehicle licensing site and put the reg number in you can also tell from the CO2 emissions figure

http://www.vehiclelicence.gov.uk/EvlPortalApp/

In the facelifted Xsara with manual gearbox the 90 has CO2 emissions of 141 g/km and the 110 is 138 g/km.

(The 110 is actually very slightly more economical than the 90, hence the lower CO2).
