HDi Xantia Estate fuel tank

Post by lolingram »

Anyone thoughts as to whether the fuel tanks on Xant Hatch and Estates are the same - HDi/ Mk1/Mk2?

Cheers,

It's a hard one to call Lol. Service.citroen .com suggests the hatch and estate uses the same tanks but they are different between MK1 and MK2 models.

It's a little confusing as they quote tanks for MK1 hatches but don't explixcitly list an estate version.

On MK2 Xantias, neither hatch nor estate is mentioned and it appears every variant uses the same tank.

I find this a little surprising as normally everything is different on an estate

Do the French actually bother dismantling old cars - they forever seem in
a blinding hurry to throw anything old away to have the newest swankiest
version to look chic in!?

Guess we could float one over the Channel to you Lol...

I do have a TD s1.5 estate tank that'll be available shortly too if it's
actually compatible to a HDi estate s2 too. Depends where your mate is
calling from over here though as I'm not really on the way to anywhere...

I need to check if there are different part #s for MK2HDi/MK1TD estate fuel tanks, or just simply Hatch/Estates. Local Frog Cit garage will only quote part# when given the VIN for the vehicle. I have shown him mine (there are he claims 5/6 different numbers for Xantia fuel tanks), and need to quote the VIN of a 1999 90hp HDi MK2 Hatch in order to make sure if there is compatability. Would anyone with such a vehicle trust me to let me quote their VIN in order to be sure on this point?
