106 diesel wheel bearings!

Post by marlin.45 »

So not only have I got to replace one rear brake cylinder and a set of shoes next week (on order) I was fiddling with a few other things while it was up on jacks. What do I find but soooo much play in the passenger side front hub you could use it to play table football!

How my better half (or me for the rare occassions I drive it) never noticed I don't know

So looking at the haines book 'o' lies it looks like a strut off and bearing press to remove the needle bearing assy. Should I just bite the bullet and let the local garage deal with it or are there shortcuts?

I need to get this car finished so I can start on sorting out front axle problems on our Terrano :x

Mileage on this one is now 118k!

Cheers,
Paul

Let the garage do it. It's one of those jobs that should take a garage no time at all but it a real pain to DIY.

Cheers bud and on your advice it is booked in to the loacl guy on Wednesday. There was until very recently a main Peugeot dealer workshop near them so I expect a few of their guys have 106 Pug experience too ;)
