My boss runs a F**d Focus. An 06 plate MK2 (I assume) one.
He needed to take it in foer some work to be done so I picked him up from the garage in my Activa and took us to work in it.
He, along with many others, has always been the forefront of those who take the mick out of my Citroens. His wife has a Picasso and they hate it.
He was impressed though with my Activa. He commented on how comfy it was (an Activa ), how nice the seats and interior were, how quiet it was, the general solid quality feel of it and overall, what a cracker of a car it was...
All that from a dedicated F**d owner came as something of a revalation to me...
Clearly, those of us who have Xantias are on to something and our quest to keep them running as long as possible are on to something good if they can impress a Focus owner...
An interesting observation...

Ooops.
Previously:
2009 Honda Civic :(
C5, C5, Xantia, BX, GS, Visa.
R4, R11TXE, R14, R30TX - x 4889
I have had kind of the reverse here, my eldest son, a Mondeo owner, although he despises it, came up on his motorbike this weekend, left it at his sisters for security and borrowed the C5. Wasn't impressed. Reckons it is like a boat and couldn't reverse it into my parking space. Didn't like my Xantia either, or the Accord. No pleasing some people.
What may be true is that we're all happy to fettle our cars and get the
spannering done to resolve issues with them where others would have
bailed out and possibly even scrapped the car which is why many are the
bargains they are asking for little more than understanding and time with
in many cases modest expenditure!
Overall the Xantia is a very durable well designed car (except annoyances
such as strut tops and heater matrix position) and can dutifully pile up
the miles with ease and in supreme comfort as the comments on their
build, comfort and quiet smoothness show.
It mustn't be forgotten that in its day new, the Xantia was regarded by
many to be a matched class leader to the Mondeo and regarded by
some to be the better car to drive and live with; another reason
we're all on to a good thing running one!
Almost every new car today is bereft of anything new, different or
innovative and stylistically eggagerated with oversized badging and other
branding cues as a means to differentiate between one another, with
slick marketing making up the shortfall of the dynamically lacking reality
delivered to people who likely don't know any better or won't face up
to admitting their flash new motor is a load of overpriced rubbish...
