Activa Fuel Economy

Unread post by CitroJim »

Now there are a fair number of us here running Activas, how's your fuel economy looking?

I ask as on Tuesday I ran mine down to Somerset and back, the first good run it has had in months. I went the A34/A303 route and carefully observed speed limits as there are so many mobile traps around that are very much active during the week

Running this trip on normal unleaded I achieved 38mpg and I was not even trying to be economical bar keeping the speed down :D :D

It was a lovely drive and I enjoyed the Activa hugely :D

Oh my giddy aunt - not even a remote hope in hell!!

I'd be chuffed if mine got high 20's though don't spend a lot of time on
motorways where most cars improve their consumption cruising at
sensible speeds. My Activa is SO heavy on fuel my CX GTi Turbo2 petrol
is justifiable as an economical alternative so it's not all bad news! :?

I just can't 'get' why these Revs/Max Power 'inspired' modified Pug lads
scrap Activa's for their engine when it's likely the worst thing about the
car and the real reason they're so worthless and on ebay for 50p in the
first place. Sure a 106 may be lighter than a Xantia but to the extent that
a low 20's mpg engine can be justifiable? :? Maybe that's why they never
actually drive anywhere further than the local shop to pose off their bling...

I'd most certainly have a V6 Activa but can't justify 3+k to spend on a
left hooker one.
