“Where is de Pollen Filter on de Xantia ?”

Unread post by Peter Mann »

In the Xantia owner’s handbook, it mentions a pollen filter in the ventilation system, and that it requires “periodic renewal”. However, its location and method of access is not disclosed. Which leads to the inevitable question “Where is de Pollen Filter ?”

Undo retaining screws that hold carpet under dash on passenger side. Locate panel on heater trunking held in place by 3 screws remove panel and pull out pollen filter
Refit using reverse proceedure

Hi
I had the carpets out anyway, so thought I'd check the filter.
The car has done 54 000 miles and has a full servive history, but by the look of it, I'd say the part had never been changed. That, and the 3 kilos of dead leaves that fell out with it.
There is a nice new filter in now though but I didn't charge myself £45/hour to fit it.
Garage servicing is definitely not all that it could be.

If your car has aircon, look directly up at the filter housing, there is an arrow on it, slide the filter compartment door in the direction of the arrow.
