Hello again to you all,
I've just run out of warranty on my C5 estate and will be digging out the tools again. The main dealer who did my first MOT says the front discs are at the limit (26 mm) and advises replacement at a cost of £350.
Parts at GSF are around £70.
I'm guessing that Haynes still don't do a manual - has any one found a good on line source?
Can anyone tell me the differences between the job on a C5 compared to a Xantia? I always used a flat bar to return the pistons on the Xant. Will this still work with the C5. Did someone once say that C5 pstons need to be turned in opposite directions?
Any advice gratefully received.
Phil

Did that on mine recently.
Difference from xantia
1. Caliper pieces connected together with bolt, not like on Xantia. You have to undo it. Manual says the new bolt should be used (some times come with brake pads)...
2. I turn pistons on mine and yes - in different directions. It was much harder to turn in incorrect direction. From the other point of view the french C5 book does not tell anything about turning.
everything else is more like xantia - have to drill out Disc retaining screws (get new ones beforehand!) and undo caliper (two bolts on the back) to replace the disc.
