I have a 'R' reg 1.9TDLX Xantia Estate and, yes, the clutch is heavy but mine does not judder at all. You could try replacing the clutch cable and see if this helps.
If you have air conditioning then the smell from the heater could be due to a build up of mould on the evaporator. This is the part that cools the air down and therefore removes the moisture from the air. If this is left wet for a period it can start to small. A good air-con specialist should be able to disinfect the system or there are DIY sprays available.
When you say that the wipers do no park properly what do you mean? Do they park in the wrong position?
I have no problems with the lights on my car but I have seen post regarding the headlamp reflectors going dim. I should check them and make sure that the bulbs are the correct type.
The front fog light bulbs are accessed by pulling off the plastic surround, inserting a screwdriver through the top corner of the air vent in the front spoiler and pushing to release the light securing clip (according to Haynes!).
Hope this helps.

Whilst I have no experience of Xantias I agree that the clutch cable may be the source of your problems. Is it genuine? - The reason I ask is that I used an alternative one (from a generally respected manufacturer) on a Renault 21 and it was so stiff and heavy that it broke the plastic self adjusting mechanism in the pedal. Replacing it and the pedal produced a pleasantly light pedal.
Other reasons may be adjustment - does the clutch break at the bottom of its travel? If so you may well be able to adjust it (you can on BX and ZX by simply turning a nut on the operating arm on the bellhousing). The worst case is that the clutch plate is worn. Diaphragm spring clutches get heavier as the plate gets thinner. Wear on non-self adjusting clutches means that the free play at the top of the pedal travel disappears.
turning to your headlights - are they focussed correctly? To test drive the car up to a wall on level ground, mark the centre of one main beam unit with tape or something visible, drive the car about 20 feet back, cover the other light and put on main beam. You should see a hotspot in the beam on the mark. If you don't try adjusting the light so that you do. You then repeat the procedure for the other light. If the lights are out the difference with them adjusted properly can be amazing on dip beam as well.
it is also worth checking the bulbs are properly fitted.
