Swapping manifolds for non-egr type
Does anyone know if non-EGR manifolds are a direct replacement/fit? I really don't like the restrictions the design brings, especially inside the inlet manifold.

Mike,
I would say they're a direct swap. I know the gaskets are the same...
Only way to know for sure is to compare the two side by side. You will need to get non-EGR Xantia ones as I believe they're pretty much unique to the Xantia. The exhaust manifold may be the same on other 1.9TDs but not the inlet manifold.
The more inportant questiion though Mike, have you got the inlet manifold off yet?

I like direct swap jobs, especially when there's benefits. I'll give Trent's a call but last time I asked for a xantia they told me they don't hang on to them long - they're the best yard I know round here
No, the manifolds are still on but I plan to change that once I've bent my trusty 13mm combi to a suitable angle. I've forgotten my school metalwork - is a blowtorch and two mole grips sufficient?
Touch wood, I should be able to work the offending bolt from the driver's side.
