hello,

i know that i should always charge the battery direct but has anyone tried to charge the picasso battery from under the bonnet?

what are the pro`s and con`s?

Pros: more convenient and no radio code probs

Cons: none - the battery is charged this way every day.....

If your charger is not rated higher (amperage) than your cigratte lighter socket, then its much easier modifying your charger cables for a lighter socket adaptor, and charge this way.
I gave both my wife and my daughter such a modified charger for Xmas gift years ago. They love it. No probs. Just plug it in both ends. Wait 15mins. Try start again.

anders if you charged it from the lighter socket then the ignition would have to be switched on

If you do decide to remove the battery, wait 5 mins from the last time anything electrical (including courtesy lights) is used before removing the terminals.
Multiplexed Citroens don't like having the battery leads taken off while the BSI is in the process of shutting down. It can end up losing settings such as the immobiliser and remote locking codes.

No - you can move the cigarette lighter fuse to another position. Making it a live outlet without the key.

You'll spend a long time looking for the battery under the bonnet

Observe Nick's advice re battery disconnection, also you won't have to get the radio recoded as it's 'assigned' to the car.

No - you can move the cigarette lighter fuse to another position. Making it a live outlet without the key.

anders how do you do that what fuse etc.

The Picasso has battery jumping points under the bonnet. Those frogs think of everything!

anders how do you do that what fuse etc.

Look in your owners manual. You should find a list of fuses explained. Either the lighter socket fuse options are explained in the manual - or you can se its got 2 possible positions for insertion in the fusebox. Like an X or ^ in one end and like / \ the other end. So you lift up the angled fuse and insert into the other angled possible location.
