Looking round the car prior to the MOT, I have found that the offside CV joint gaiter (long shaft) has perished round the ligarex clip on the shaft.
Obviously grease is leaking so it will have to be replaced.
On this particular shaft, it has still got the heavy cast metal tri ax can and not the later pressed tin one.
With this type of earlier shaft, can you remove the CV joint by tapping it of the shaft against a circlip or does everything have to come off the tri ax end ?
