We just picked up a 1999 106 Zest 2 diesel which has no keypad immobiliser or central locked/blipper. When we bought the car it came with only one key and obviously we would like to have a spare.
With that in mind we went to get one cut today to be told that this key will have an integrated chip for th immobiliser system? Anyone know if this is the case? If so it looks like a spares will cost £25-£50
Just came back from the local Peugeot agent who said basically the same and they would want around £120 to supply me with a suitable key Therefore my suggestion to the better half is:-
a)Don't lose it!
b) We just get a std key cut in case someone locks themselves in
If you do get a new key, I should be able to programme it for you (I can do all Citroën ones) although you'd have to come to my place (M25 J15/16) with the car and the 'key code card'.

When I was after a key for my old 306 I went to a local key cutters and they did me one for about £20 (it was a few years ago) and they coded it for me by reading the code from my original key and then putting it on the new key.
It did work too so I had a relatively cheap spare.
