Where is my Vacuum pump

Hi Folks,
No real reason for asking this,but for curiousity's sake,but where is the vacuum pump situated on the Xantia (MK1) 1.9TD.I've not come across it before and also,what does it do on these vehicles :?:

1994 Xantia 1.9TD sx non anti sink.No aircon.Gone to the great scappy up above.

Now with Xsara Picasso 2.0 HDI (90 bhp)(03 plate) in 'Wicked Red'

Your '94 model 1.9TD shouldn't have a vacuum pump. It was fitted on later models (from 1996 onwards I think) to control the cold start fast idle and egr valve. The pump is driven from the end of the camshaft on these.
