On some citroens I have worked on it has been necessary to disconnect the speedo at the gearbox once the cable has been removed from the speedo because it is far to short to push back into place with the width of a hand in the way. does anybody know if this is the case with an xantia /xantia MK 2 please?
kind regards Nigel.

Only early Xantia's from 1993 to about 1995 used a conventional speedo cable. From 1995 onwards the speedo is electronic.
I believe the changeover occurred at the same time the chevrons went from the bonnet to the grill (also in 1995) but don't quote me on that.
All MK2's will definitely have an electronic speedo.

Simon
