wierd vibration at 60 mph

Post by admiral51 »

Hi all
have just done a mini service on the good ladys xantia 1.9d 1996 and have taken it for a spin tio check everything is ok
everything fine until you get to about 60-65mph then there is a bad vibration felt through the steering wheel and feels if car wants to pull to the right.
i have checked tyre pressures and they are ok but i get no feedback under braking and all other times car drives in a straight line

could it be balancing (i know had bad she drives   ) or tracking
all ideas welcome

Swap wheels front<->rear and check what happens then.
Most easy way to to pin down a defective wheel.

10-1 it will be a wheel balance problem but it could be caused by a defective tyre. Doing as Anders says will help you track it down.

Have you checked that the wheel nuts are ok and that there isnt a wheel pin that the wheel goes on? similar to the rear wheels?
