all cars fitted with xenon headlights (from the factory) must have headlamp washers & automatic beam height correction by law. on the C5 it uses the same body height sensors for the auto headlamp adjustment as it does for suspension adjustment, by programming it this tells the BHI that it needs to pass the body height info onto the headlamp ECU's

I wondered if it was that.
Given that the car is already self levelling, won't the sensors always tell the lights to be in the same position no matter what? Surely about the only fault there can be for the suspension to get the level wrong is a faulty sensor so it would still set the lights to the same position even though it is wrong because it thinks it is right due to a dodgy sensor. Which would make all that complex stuff completely pointless. I guess that is legislation for you.
How do other cars do the light levelling? Do they also use sensors on the rollbars just for the lights?
