Hi,
When one does the resistance testing on the ABS unit, I take it that the wiring plug is tested. The top that fits onto the abs body.

Hi Jim,
Thanks for your quick reply. Will be looking at that this weekend.
Did a bounce test on car yesterday---2 front spheres are solid, and n/s/r is dead. Wondered why it was like a pogo stick. Ordered 4 from GSF. The accy one pumps me up when I sit on rear of car, and infrequent ticking so will put that one on back burner, till I see what the other balls do.

Hi,
I checked the resistances on abs plug, and found O/S/F to have no reading--all the other were up around the 1080( as described in this forum ). Fitted a new sensor lead, ---still got light on. Multimeter now dead, so have to get another before I can check it out again.
Anyone got any ideas as to why new lead didn't knock the light out?.
Thats what I liked about my old L reg TD Xant---it didn't have abs---didn't need it--nor do I- unecessary complications.
Thanks,
Greg

Hi,
It was a new sensor with lead. The plug contacts were as clean as a whistle. Stupid bloody place to put plug though. Of course, just cos it is a new lead, doesn't make it 100% .. Will buy a new multitester from Aldi tomorrow.

I was going to suggest buying a new meter from Lidl or Aldi (couldn't remember which). Anybody who doesn't have a meter should pop in and buy one, it's too useful not to buy for under £7.
Does your Xantia have the later type of ABS? The later ones won't acknowledge a repair until you hit 20mph.

Thanks all for your input. When I fitted the new sensor, I never tried the car. It was when Richard ( Reblack ) mentioned early types and late types, and would reset on later types after 20MPH, that I tried it, Light went out at 16 mph. YIPPEE.. One less mot thing to worry about.

Greg
