Fan doesn't work...

My fan has stopped working on my Xantia :(
It works until I start the engine, when it cuts out and refuses to restart. Stopping the engine, removing the key, putting the key back in and moving back to the pre-ignition stage restores the fan, until I start the engine and it stops. The rear screen heater is similary affected.
How much is this going to set me back :(

Before you replace the ignition switch (probable cause), try spraying some WD40 through the ignition keyhole.
My Xantia had a similar problem with the fan/rear screen working intermittantly, and the ignition key getting hot, a few years ago.
I sprayed in some WD40 and its worked fine ever since.
