Anyone local? Or maybe not....

Post by Toby_HDi »

Anyone local to me who is confident with changing all 6 spheres on a Xantia? My accumulator is ticking every 5 secs so needs doing and thought I might as well do them all. Would like someone to give me a hand/show me how to do it for future reference. If your not local then let me know if you could help as I may be willing to travel further. Just depends on where you are.

Cheers

I'm pretty close to you and happy to assist but my confidence only hinges on changing one accumulator sphere under the kind supervision of citrojim.

Hmm, I can feel that road trip tingle coming on :)

Course the easiest plan for Jim and me would be to get Toby to Finmere and do it on the ramps there (makes the back ones a doddle!), but I could do with taking Cassy for a long drive to check how well she's running on veg.

Toby when are you thinking of doing the spheres?
Is there any other work you might need doing like brake pads?
When was the LHM last changed? Some hydroflush might be in order.

Either end of Feb or end of March (Feb when I next get paid but March is bonus time :)

Not sure tbh, thinking possibly all filters and fluids. Hydraflush sounds good, not sure when it was done you see, I only got the car couple of months ago. Brake pads not sure, seem all right. Basically just want to give it a good service, going over anything that needs doing.

Sound sensible?

I'm sure we can arrange something mutually acceptable between us all. Fimmere would be an ideal venue for the spheres 8)

Just checked where Finmere is. I reckon once I've got a bit more money (feb/mar) I would be up for that. I could get the parts (with some prior help from you fellas as to what i'll need/what's good/where from etc) bring them up and we can get it done up there?

I'll be back in circulation in a couple of weeks and could be the (almost) halfway house (M25 J15). Alternatively the 'Out-laws' live near Poole so I might be able to make a Southern meet. I have the ramps, sphere tool, diagnostic equipment, factory workshop manuals etc etc.
