Steering/Suspension problem

Hi Team,

Looking for advice re the following problem:

My Xantia TD mk2 is pulling to the right when you accelerate and vibrating gear stick between 3rd and 4th are they related and what is the cause. :?

I wa thinking :wink: driveshft and/or engine mountings. :wink:

Any thoughts on the matter :?:
C5 x7 2.0 HDi 160 hp Estate exclusive, moved on.
Xantia 2.0 Hdi 90hp 1999 only 189,000 and rising!!!!!!! Moved on to a new home
C3 1.4 petrol (SWMBO)
Xantia TD 1.9 Mk 2 Estate LX 1998 model over 210,000 miles now and still rising!!!!!!!!!!!!! now deceased 17/12/2010.

The lower engine mount and/or driveshaft intermediate bearing has to be a favourite to look at initially Kenny. Check that the intermediate bearing is nice and tight in the carrier and that the "hockey stick" retainers have not worked loose.

If not those, one of your inboard CV joints may well be worn, not necessarily your right-hand one. Hopefully not as the lower engine mount is a lot cheaper, although not easier, to replace than a driveshaft.

It's worth also checking your swivel joints on the wishbones and the wishbone rubber bushes.

Thanks Jim,

Lower swival joints both replaced last year and both wishbones replaced, one very recently. 8)

Will have a look and let you know.
