Not realy gonna be much help here, but I would say dont be to harsh on the chap that did the clutch!! By all means ask him to take a look at it, but I realy cannot think of why he would have would caused this.

If the plip was not working at all then I would say that maybe they could have pulled a wire or something??? to upset the central locking bit.

I have seen something somewhere (maybe on here) that goes through the procces or resetting the rf plips, or maybe someone will read this and know how to do this..

I rekon (and I may be wrong) that it has something do do with dissconecting the battery whilst removing the gearbox and a reset will sort it.

Regards
Slim.

Xantia plips

Post by lolingram »

If I tape the one and only plip for my Hdi Xantia 90bhp somewhere close to the steering column, will this allow me to use a new key replacement?

Much obliged for anyone who can advise...

try it ;)

sure it will work...

on a different note, i took a remote RF key and the matched receiver, from a mark 2 car on Saturday. Is there any chance that if I fit this receiver, my car wil be mobilised by the new key? I doubt it... (it would be very easy to steal xantias if this were the case) I am guessing the receiver gets info from the key and sends to an ECU which would then 'disagree' ...
