Hi all, I am just wondering if there is any way Estate seats will fit in a Hatch ? I have been offered some.... is the estate seat a single item or split like the hatch...?

Hi John,
My Estate seats are 60/40 split with an inertia reel seatbelt built into the squab for the centre passenger. This alone makes a conversion potentially worth it as a lap/diagonal belt for the centre passenger has to be better than the hatch lap only belt.
The squab retaining arrangement is a bit different compared to the hatch (different "C" pillar design) so I'd be dubious if they would fit really easily but as I say, the benefits may well be worth the work.

One thing you loose with the estate seats John, to the disgust of my daughters, is the Ski Hatch behind the arm rest
They used the Ski Hatch to gain access to goodies stashed in the boot (like food) when on long trips but can no longer do so in the estate

Be happy to John. I'll do that tomorrow in daylight.jgra1 wrote:
Jim I dont suppose if you have a sec sometime this week, could you take a snap of the C pillar area, with the seat back forward?

John,
Pictures:
Hatch "C" Pillar. The squab anchors on a spike. This in a MK2 but MK1 is the same..
MK1 Estate "C" Pillar. The squab anchors onto a hoop which is higher up the squab than the spike on the hatch.
If you want any more views John, just let me know...
