ZX Immobiliser

The zx 1.9d is starting to have some keypad issues so we would like to disconnect it for good.

Ive read that all you do is enter the code, await green light and then disconnect the wiring block out the back of it, is this certainly the way?

If yes, how easy is it to actually remove the immobiliser from its home to gain access to the wiring block.

Looks like the clutch is nearly on its way out, the cars done just over 155k so hopefully its the original.
