fuel pump identity

hi
im off to look at another xantia today any idea how i tell bosch/lucas pumps from each other

all i know is car is a 1994 1.9 d (poss turbo) and keen to run on veg any hints greatfully accepted

Easy:

Lucas: Cold start cable to front of pump
Bosch: Cold start cable to back of pump

If it's a 1.9 TD it will almost certainly have a Bosch pump (not heard of any Lucas ones). 1.9D might be either I guess. A Bosch TD pump is also easily recognisable by the flying saucer on the top. N/A pumps look similar, but check the cold start cable as above.

thanks one and all
its a 1.9dlx with chevrons on the bonnet and its a lucas pump

but i bought it anyway £250 with 4 months mot and 2 months tax not the prettiest car every but we have time
