Hi all,
3k ago I fitted a new auxilliary belt when I swapped the cam belt. I suspect I may have tensioned it too tight. During the week I got a chirrupy, squeaky metal on metal sound at idle. I slackened the belt tension.
Tonight, the PAS made a grinding noise when under load at low speeds. As we got home (in the dark) I got my torch out. The fluid has dropped and is dripping from under the alternator. Which is where the pump sits.
The fluid in the reservoir was burnt/ boiled.
Is my pump knackered?
Or could these symptoms be caused by a split pipe?
