Just got the above CD radio to replace the cassette unit in my wife's 306 (2000 W).
It came from a reputable source with security code, but when I plug it in all I get is 4 ERROR in the display.
Can anyone throw any light on this, and how to clear it?

Re: Clarion 2294B error code showing
I guess not.
I have the exact same and I am searching the forum to try and work out how to get it to disappear.
I pressed the band button and held it for a while but I am not sure what the exact protocol is on the 2294B which mine is.
Anyway, I carried on trying to find a parasitic drain on the battery and when I next look at the radio it had 4 dashes so I assumed, wrongly, that it was the same as the radio in my S1 Xantia and pressed the 1 button four times to try and get it to increase to 3 and it entered 1111 and then I got 5 ERROR.

I know Marc!
I still thought it was worth replying to rather than starting a new thread...
Thanks in advance.

I’ll need the VIN please Roger. I'll also split part of the parts request into a new topic.

Re: Clarion 2294B error code showing
Well. After much digging I've found nothing.
However, I have got the radio working by holding the Band button down with the radio off and simply switching it on!
Only problem now is it has a high pitched beep every 2-3 seconds which I assume is some kind of anti-theft alert.
If I could upload the sound recording I would. I guess when I get time, I can upload it to a sharing service and post a link.
It is most odd.

That will, as you say, be the anti-theft system. It can be done by use of a Lexia, 'introducing' the radio to the car. I don't know exactly HOW I did it, but when I had to replace the radio in my first C5 I got the beeping as well, and somehow I got the radio and car to acknowledge each other, cancelling the beeping.

Re: Clarion 2294B error code showing
Well. The damned thing works!
I had a long drive today and forgot to switch on until a good portion through the journey.
So basically I switched it on and it displayed 5 ERROR (because I had obviously entered the code wrong 5 times over its lifespan) and I just left it.
The screen went blank after a while but that just appears to be in sleep mode.
Now when I arrived I accidentally switched the car off but I turned it straight back on and pressed the right arrow (just any button other than a number) to bring it back to life.
It then displayed CODE IN.
So I entered the code and away I went.
AWESOME! So pleased.

Re: Clarion 2294B error code showing
I think some of these increase the lockout time significantly after so many unsuccessful attempts - so leaving it until the code in messages comes up is the best bet - pleased you have it working - but worth noting in future if you have to disconnect the battery for any reason...

Hopefully it has reset totally now Marc as I don’t fancy waiting 5 days for a functional radio again.
Mind you. I’ve managed without it for 6 months.
