hi, does anyone know whether you can fit M1 into an M2 car?
I realise that you would lose the side airbags..
I may have a set of 96 cream leather seats..
Thanks as always

I had thought of doing the same thing, as the quality of some of the mark2 Xantia seats are terrible (or rather the seat covers) Instead I got a set of seat covers side airbag compatable & all is well. I would imagine that the seats are interchangable between the mark 1 and mark 2. but I would hate to lose the advantage of side airbags.

All the ones I've seen have a red embroiored (sp? - stitched) oval on the side of the seat saying "Airbag" about 6 inches below the headrest..juppy wrote:I am confused as I have a T reg MK2 and as far as I can see it does not have side air bags, how can i tell. I thought cars that had side airbags had a little tag on the side of the seat a bit like the Levi tag on jeans.
Side airbags I would imagine will go with the passenger airbag. The other clue will be the passenger airbag defeat switch down by the handbrake lever...

Mine doesn't have the fancy stitching you mention but has the sticker
The bulge bit at the bottom is to cover part of the sliding rails IIRC as the bag is in the side support. if you sit in the seat and feel up the right hand side of the seat you should feel a hard part about 6-8" below the top line of the seat

My Mark 2 doesn't have a front passenger or side air bags, it's a 1.9 TD Sensation registered in 1999 late on in march on a T plate.
I have to admit the seat and material are very poor compared to my Mark 1 1.9 TD SX, the seat material has worn through on the outside seam on the drivers seat just above the seat height adjuster, it seems fairly common as I've noticed it on a few Xantias, and is wearing at the seam about a 1/3rd of the way up the back rest where the material meets the vinyl of the side.
