help required - the dreaded matrix

Post by Village »

Afternoon gents,

I frequent another forum for Parctical Performance Magazine, where one of the members has had to dismantle most of his 306 to replace the heater matrix, in is still having problems. Would one of you kind folks pop over and point him in the right direction?

Many thanks

Pete

Surely it would make more sense for him to come onto this forum, say hello, ask his questions and/or maybe use the Image Search function...

Hello.

I used the search function, but Mr Village was also most helpful. (it's me, IB!)

It was indeed the resistor pack that was knackered, or more precisely the thermo-diode. I have performed a temporary fix, which by all accounts may well last longer than a new resistor pack! My blower now blows at all four speeds. I had previously fitted a switched wire to the -ive terminal of the blower motor for a binary (or even SmallFaces) style of de-misting.
