Friend buying a xantia. Any advice

Hi all peeps. My friend is going to look at a xantia later. Its a 2l 110 hdi lx on a w reg with 77000 miles on the clock and looks in pretty good condition. it also has full citroen service history. Its on a garage forecourt in truro. They have got it up for 2k. What would you say is a fair price for the car. Any things to keep a look out for. many thanks. jamie

I'd say check it against parkers price guide, with citroen FSH it should be a good car, for that price i'd expect some kind of warranty/guarantee on it too, and a full tank of fuel, tax and 12mths mot and a recent dealer service.

The Xantia HDI is a cracking car but personaly I would expect gold plated door handles for 2 grand!!

But I guess that with a full service, cam belt, brakes, spheres all done and a warranty thown in it would poss be worth it.
