Fan types

Hi,

Does anyone know whether or not the type of radiator fan used changes between the older Xantias and the facelift models?

Im trying to buy one for my (old look) 1997 1.9TD with air con (the sort with twin fans) and the one I've found (on a popular online auction site... ;-)) is from a newer Xantia.

Any ideas?

There is single fan and dual fan setups in all kinds of possible mix with a/c, autobox, turbo etc.
The fan motor can be 120W, 210W or 350W power versions
There are at least 2 different fan motor makes.

The full list of possible variant setups is not that easy to overlook on the Citroen parts list.
You better get some accurate details on the fan you are looking for - and the fan you have found - to compare.

try going on http://service.citroen.com. and typing in your vin number to give list of parts fitted to your car
you will need to register but its free :D :D
go to exploded section and click on engine general then cooling which should open up a new window of exploded diagram

number2 should tell you the wattage of the motor fitted

just checked my 1.9d and it has 200w fans

my dead 1.9td has 250w fans

sorry these i am keeping to put on my 1.9d unless someone out there thinks it will need higher rated fuses etc etc :) :)
