xsara hdi engine rattle

Hi hope somebody can help with some problems i have been having 1 problem is whenever i change my fuel filter it puts the engine managment light on and will stop dead after half a mile cure was to get fault codes wiped.does this every time even turning ignition on and off 10 times.
got a new pump fitted in the tank about 5 months ago
problem 2 the rattle on these engines between 2000 and 3000rpm has now got louder and now comes in at 1000rpm but still goes at 3000rpm you can here the noise all the time at any speed or gear ,like the tapets are needing done ,soon as you lift off the throttle it goes silent.and now sometimes when accelerating hard the managment light will come on,and will go into limp home mode.disconnecting the battery a couple of times will put it out :?
