Front Height Corrector plastic clip

Post by rdj104 »

Well, after the front height corrector on my Xantia seized up (the hydraulic cylinder bits) I took it all apart, cleaned it all up. Now trying to put it all back together again.

Hydraulic pipes took much persuading to rethread, all done now, onto the final challenge, the plastic clip!

It's too far away from the metal ball to pop over it, so what's the trick?

Do I need to start the engine and set it to min. height so the metal ball is then rotated to be closer? Will that work?

And before anyone comments yes I have the car on ramps so I don't get squished.

i think the best way is to put the clip on the other side first, then you can move the height selector from within the car to match the other side without having to wait for the car to go up/down at the right time.

i'd advise using a pit or car lift for this job, especially with the front, i'm sure you need small hands for that end of the car to clip the clip

That's exactly what has worked for me twice. Not sure what sort of ramps you're using but always beware if changing suspension settings as I'm sure you already know due to the work completed already
