Wet Xsara floor

Dear all,

I discovered yesterday that my 2002 Xsara HDi VTR is soaking wet inside, but only on the driver's side (front and rear footwells). The left hand side is bone dry. Before I start the horrible task of trying to locate the potential leak, I was wondering if anyone else has had a similar experience and could point me towards a potential source. I did wonder if it could be due to a blocked air conditioning drain (not sure where that is) as the air con has been a little smelly at times recently. Does anyone have any ideas? Please help!!

Could be the vent ahead of the windscreen is full of leaves etc. On ZX there is a plastic grill over it which needs to be removed to dig it out.

The air conditioning drain is above the passenger’s floor, so the other side.
If the car is parked at an angle, the water may have come from the high side.
Sun roofs have drain tubes in the roof pillars.
