Hi all. Been looking at a 2000 plate Megane 1.6RT 5 door hatchback. On examination I noticed there is (and please excuse the layman's term here) a sort of metal bar which runs from side-to-side at the rear in front of the rear beam. It's sort of 'L' shaped and appears to me to be some form of anti-roll bar possibly.
Anyhow the said bar is very rusty and has actually rotted through in places. Could someone please be kind enough to inform me exactly what this bar is and whether replacement is neccessary before using the car? Any indications of cost of replacement part and the job involved to change it would be much appreciated to if that's possible.
