Hi guys.
Could someone quickly talk me through the replacement of a rear swing arm bearing on a 106.
One of the rear wheels on mine seems to be leaning in slightly at the top.
I've normally opted to change the complete rear beam, but money is tight at the mo.
Also can you buy the bushes for the rear shocks or are they complete replacements only??

Hi Ross,
This job is similar to doing a 205 beam. What has happened is water has got in and corroded the needle rollers. The bearings themselves are not a difficult job if corrosion is not too bad but usually, when you have camber showing, there is other damage as well, often pitted trailing arm shafts and ovalisation of the beam tube itself. This gets expensive.
There is a good guide on the 205 GTi Drivers Website. I can't link directly to it directly but if you look under articles and then look for rear bean refub, the guide will show.

To be honest, because of the cost of all the bits you'll need from a Pug dealer and the long task it can be to release corroded bearings and torsion bars, you'll be best off either getting a good one from a scrappy (check it carefully and be prepared to pay fair money) or go to one of the specialists and treat yourself to a refurbed beam. They're expensive at around £250 - 300 but come with warranty. I took this route with my 205GTi last year.
