There is an Activa on eBay which a guy is breaking, due to it needing a new driveshaft!!! It's currently complete with electric leather interior.

Please someone save it! It would be a shame to see it broken for a 205 etc....

I've asked him a few questions to gauge where he's at but it's unlikely
he'll sell it for any money near the combined parts prices he's quoting
- he's not daft and has a good feel for the going rate of these parts.
Could be worse - it could've run the washer bottle dry - after all, no
excuse is really needed to cull an Activa these days!!
Incidentally, looking at the black leather seats in a non sunroof AC car,
I've just driven a newly purchased Activa home today over the whole
width of the UK and have found the specific model velour seats the most
comfortable Xantia one's I've tried (S1 - P plate). Not sure the leather
would've been nice in the baking sun today even with the working AC
going full pelt...
anyhow, let's see what's left when the dust settles on ebay here then!!

Seems very strange to break a car just for a duff driveshaft. Methinks there may be a lot else wrong too and those of us who have been there know how much time and money it takes to fully sort an Activa
The end result though, is well worth it

Well it might be saved, I've just spoken to the owner and offered him a driveshaft. He's thinking,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
Alternatively it's £500 for the whole car
Basically its the usual situation of doing one repair, then the next etc. He's run out of patience with it and as we know the car is worth more in parts.

Gutted, would of loved the interior for my car, but still need to sort out other more important things for the MOT. so wont be able to afford it out right...
Oh well
Though I'm just hoping the breakers yard i went to, to get my car parts gets a leather xantia in, as they only want £80, including door panels.
Only got my ABS and tires to sort out.

Excellent stuff Richard, That is good news indeed!DickieG wrote:It looks as if the "Activa Preservation Society" has done its magic, he's picking up the driveshaft this afternoon to get it back on the road.

I just hope the same occurs with the BX 16 GTi on the 'bay at the moment

Congrats! I was considering having the wheels if he did break it, but would rather source some from someone who has changed them, or from a crashed Activa! Rather than cannabilising a good car.DickieG wrote:It looks as if the "Activa Preservation Society" has done its magic, he's picking up the driveshaft this afternoon to get it back on the road.

*EDIT*

I may be talking total rubbish here as it is rumoured that the Activa has special reinforced wheels (some say they have, others not - Richard, please give us the definitive answer ) but the Activa was not the only car fitted with them if looks are anything to go by. Xac's 2.1 TD has Activa wheels and his car too has 205 section tyres so you may be able to widen your search.
If only pr.net was still with us

I've seen a few estates with the Activa alloys - never worked that one out;
what Citroen were up to there then. Don't go just by pictures - s2 wheeltrims
look uncannily like Activa alloys too!
I'd fancy one or two Activa rims too, rather than a complete set but they're
strong money - tyres wiuld have to be VERY good for that price...

You know, what we should do is buy a complete set and split the cost/set between usandmcit wrote:I've seen a few estates with the Activa alloys - never worked that one out;
