Hi guy's,does anyone know what the third sphere in the middle at the rear of the td lx xantia is for and is it hard to change ( should it need changing )

That'll be the anti sink sphere then. Stops the back of the car dropping whilst its stationary with the engine running basically. It has the same lifespan as any other sphere, and should be changed at the same time as the rear spheres are replaced.
It differs from "normal" spheres in that it has a metal pipe that screws into the bottom of the sphere, as well as the sphere screwing onto its fixing as normal. The pipe should be undone with a 9mm spanner before the sphere itself is removed for replacement.
