My son's 306D (DW8 engine) struggles to pass 3000 rpm and feels gutless. I changed the diesel filter and checked and cleaned the tank strainer. I have been told the lift pumps are prone to failure.
Any ideas?

No that's ok Matt.
It was serviced 5000 miles ago. The airfilter looked ok and so did the diesel filter but I changed that anyway.
There's no smoke, it's just flat.

I have had problems recently with s****y diesel from a supermarket garage, that caused no end of problems? Might be worth just thinking about.
