Hi
I need to change the rear brake pipes on my Xantia
Is there anything special I need to know about the brake pipes or can I just go to my local motor store and get them made up?
cheers

Xantia 2.1TD SX 130000
They are not the same construction as normal brakes pipes, and need a special flaring tool (plus the seals), and a different size of pipe. Pleiades (not sure of the spelling) can supply pre-flared ones, as far as I know, or bite the bullet and buy the pipe, flaring tool and seals from the likes of GSF Car Parts and make them yourself.
Are you sure its the brake pipes, or one of the suspension pipes - as there's a lot of piping on a Xantia!

Not according to their website... http://www.gsfcarparts.com/ and I can't find the flaring tool on there either - perhaps its only Pleiades who do them. They do the pipe and seals, though..

Pipes are actually cheap enough from the dealers??? plus they are pre shaped which is a big help in working out where they go.

try giving GSF a call as i think they used to sell these, and when you have fitted them make sure they are not touching anywhere appart from were they are mounted this includes between the coils, its also probably not a good idea to have copper ones made up as were they are coiled to allow for flexing they wont last long
