405 Heater mattrix replacement

Post by woodhead722 »

How easy?

Removing all the dash seems to be a bit of a sod. Even my local garage didn't really fancy.

So who's done it? ..........2 hours or 2 weeks?

Been meaning to do this on mine for about 2 years now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Gets on your nerves in winter but who likes working on cars in the cold weather?

I heard on here that it can be done without taking the dash out by means of cutting a small bit from the bottom of the dash, just enough to slide the matrix out.

Someone will know :D

I believe they were, as were the RHD 306 and I think some of the 206 models.

May be wrong on the 206. Aussiefrogs has more details.. somewhere.

Removing the entire dash on a 405 isn't actually that hard. I've done it 3 times now, and can do the whole job (dash off, matrix replaced and dash back on) in a day. Granted, it's not a short day, and there is swearing, but it can be done.
