fluid change

I am about to change the LHM in my xantia 97 td lx and want to know if after i have cleaned the tank out and refilled with fresh LHM do i have to bleed the brakes?????????

Do not forget to also clean the Filters with Petrol,it is not necessary to bleed the brakes,althogh it might be advisable if you want to get completely rid of all the old LHM Fluid.I have changed my LHM on many accasions and did not bleed the brakes.Good Luck with the job,it is not too difficult

If you're going to the trouble of cleaning the LHM reservoir and filters and replacing with new LHM, it seems a shame to leave the old brown fluid in the brake lines. Since the pipes to the calipers are 'dead ends', the fluid doesn't recirculate through the system. Go on - bleed them!

Wash filters in petrol and be extremely careful of the razor sharp edge inside the top of the LHM tank when you stick your hand in there, or more correctly, when you go to take it out. <img src=icon_smile_shock.gif border=0 align=middle>
