C5 tyre pressures for 17" wheels

Post by fastbatard »

I've just put some 17" alloys on my C5 but am not sure what the tyre pressures should be. Tyres are 215 45 17. Does anyone have any ideas? Cheers.

Thanks for that. I didn't need spacers, the offset of the wheels is et15 and they went straight on.

If you're upping your rim size you need to up your tyre pressures. When you've got less height of tyre sidewall and you hit a bump, you've got less distance of tyre between the bump and the wheel rim, hit a big enough bump and your wheel is dead.

I've got a work colleague with a BMW 330d, that came from the factory with 17" wheels and the tyre pressures on it are above 40psi when its unladen and higher when loaded.
