I have Xantia -96 2.0i-16v. Driven 170tkm.
There is strange ticking in left front corner ... just behind the front blinker. Yesterday I removed the left front blinker and there was a strange component. It was a red-brown cylinder with an air hoses in both ends. There was also integrated some kind of relay-switch which gives this noise. The noise is like the relay switches on-off-on-off-... The noise is not continuous but it comes very often ... couple of minutes after the engine started and the noise lasts 15-20 seconds. Nowadays here is very cold (about -30 celcius). I wonder if this is the reason for that noise.
In my opinion that strange component is some kind of air pressure switch.
Does anybody know what is that strange component and what it do in engine? How I can fix the problem?
There is also some strange sound in injection inlets just near the cylinder head; belt side. It sounds like an air hose is leaking. Does anybody know???
By the way the engine itself works well.
Thankfully

Hi Tero
This rang a bell so I did a search on "behind bumper" and came up with this link: http://www.andyspares.com/discussionfor ... IC_ID=1576
I think that's your answer.
